We are Glencoe Ceramics
Who are we?
Established in the 1990s, this group has been dedicated to the art of woodfiring for many decades. Woodfiring is a unique and traditional method of ceramic firing that involves the use of wood as the fuel source for the kiln.
Recently, Glencoe Ceramics underwent a major transformation with the rebuilding of their kiln, which is a Japanese Anagama kiln. The new kiln has been named Tandava, which is derived from the Indian phrase for "dance of fire." This name reflects the group's commitment to the art and science of woodfiring, and their passion for harnessing the power of fire to create beautiful, unique pieces of ceramic art.
